Local Fire/EMS and Law Enforcement agencies are encouraging local residents to consider water safety this weekend as the weather improves and air temperatures rise. River and local lake temps are still very cold, and can cause hypothermia. Winter waters change shorelines - limbs and logs create new underwater hazards.

PFD s are required for all children under the age of 12 on boats 19 feet or shorter.
